This isn’t a bus tour. And it definitely isn’t one of those “small-group” tours where you spend the day sightseeing with a bunch of strangers.
This is your San Francisco adventure for two — cruising through the city in an open-top Jeep with your own private guide, stopping for views, taking photos, laughing a lot, and exploring places the big tours simply can’t go.
One Jeep. One Guide. Just the Two of You.
320 + 5-Star Reviews | Private Tours Only | Local Guides with Personality
We saw every major landmark plus hidden gems we never would’ve found on our own.
Picture this: You hop into a bright green open-air Jeep. Just the two of you. No strangers. No headsets. No fighting for the window seat.
San Francisco starts unfolding around you — steep streets, colorful neighborhoods, bay views, Golden Gate Bridge panoramas and those wonderfully strange little corners that make the city feel like nowhere else.
You’re snapping photos, pulling over when the view is too good to pass up, and hearing stories you’d never get from a recorded audio track.
Your guide knows when to talk, when to cruise, when to take the scenic detour and when to say: “Trust me — you’re going to want a photo here.”
Start times: 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM 12:00 NOON or 1:00 PM

We drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and stop at one of the best nearby viewpoints for photos, depending on traffic and conditions:
This is also prime territory for the classic “proof we were actually in San Francisco” photo.
Your guide can take it.
Neither of you has to become the designated trip photographer.
With limited tour time and a whole city to explore, there usually isn’t time to walk across the bridge — but the photo stops are fantastic.
From tucked-away viewpoints to quiet streets, the hidden gems were our favorite part.
Obviously.
Drive across one of the world’s most famous bridges and stop for photos with the Golden Gate, San Francisco skyline, bay and Pacific Ocean as your backdrop.
If there is one photo you send everyone back home, this is probably it.
Big bridge. Big skyline. Big Pacific Ocean.
The Marin Headlands offer some of the most dramatic views of the Golden Gate Bridge anywhere — and some of the best photo opportunities on the tour.
On a clear day, spectacular.
On a foggy day, spectacular in a very San Francisco sort of way.
One of the prettiest places in San Francisco and a great photo stop.
The massive rotunda, classical columns and lagoon were created for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
It’s one of those places that makes almost everyone stop and say, “Okay, this is pretty cool.”
A former U.S. Army post turned spectacular national park, filled with forests, historic buildings and Golden Gate views.
Depending on your route, we may cruise through areas around Crissy Field, Marina Green and scenic Presidio overlooks.
This is San Francisco at its ridiculously photogenic best.
Yes, we drive down it when traffic and road conditions allow.
Eight hairpin turns, flowers, brick pavement and tourists pointing cameras at you as your Jeep wiggles its way downhill.
It’s ridiculous.
It’s iconic.
It’s very fun in a Jeep.
Your tour begins in one of San Francisco’s most famous waterfront neighborhoods.
Fishing boats, historic piers, seafood restaurants, cable cars, bay views and sea lions that have somehow managed to become waterfront celebrities.
Cruise through San Francisco’s historic Italian neighborhood, famous for cafés, restaurants, Washington Square and Beat Generation history.
Your guide can also point out a few places worth coming back to later for pizza, pasta, coffee or drinks.
Useful local research.
Drive beneath the famous Dragon Gate and into one of North America’s oldest and most colorful Chinatowns.
Red lanterns, temples, historic buildings, tiny streets and more visual stimulation than your phone camera knows what to do with.
See the heart of downtown San Francisco with its historic hotels, theaters, shopping and constantly changing skyline.
It’s also a great jumping-off point if your plans after the tour involve cocktails, shopping or dinner.
Beautiful architecture, elegant streets and some of San Francisco’s grandest homes.
Cruise past mansions, classic Victorians and spectacular bay views while quietly deciding which house you’d pick if somebody handed you an unlimited real-estate budget.
Depending on your interests, timing, traffic and San Francisco being San Francisco, we can also explore:
Cruise through one of America’s great city parks, with possible views of the de Young Museum, California Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers and miles of gardens and green space.
Take a colorful spin through the neighborhood that became ground zero for San Francisco’s Summer of Love.
Victorians, vintage shops, music history and enough tie-dye to keep 1967 alive indefinitely.
Get that classic postcard view of the Painted Ladies with downtown San Francisco rising behind them.
Yes, everyone asks about Full House.
No, we don’t judge.
When the weather cooperates, Twin Peaks delivers one of the biggest panoramic views in San Francisco.
Downtown, the bay, surrounding neighborhoods and miles of city spread out below you.
When it’s fogged in?
Your guide probably has a Plan B.
Want more color?
Head into the Mission for street art, murals and one of San Francisco’s liveliest cultural neighborhoods.
Sometimes you just need to point the Jeep west until you run out of continent.
Ocean Beach delivers wide Pacific views, crashing waves and a completely different side of San Francisco.
Cruise along the waterfront past piers, historic buildings and views across San Francisco Bay.
It’s also a useful route if sightseeing has somehow turned into deciding where to eat next.
This is the part we really like.
Because the Jeep belongs exclusively to the two of you, your tour doesn’t have to follow exactly the same formula as everyone else.
Love architecture? Let’s see great architecture.
Want viewpoints? Let’s chase views.
First time in San Francisco? We’ll make sure you hit the classics.
Already know the city? Let’s go deeper.
Want more photos? We’ll stop more.
Want less narration and more cruising? Easy.
Traveling as a pair creates a very specific photo problem.
“Here’s you at the Golden Gate Bridge.”
“Here’s me at the Palace of Fine Arts.”
“Here’s you in Chinatown.”
And somehow there are almost no photos of the two of you together.
Your guide is happy to take photos with your phone at scenic stops throughout the tour.
So both of you can be in the memory instead of one person always standing behind the camera.
We hit Lombard, Painted Ladies, Coit Tower, Chinatown, North Beach and more with zero stress.
You could sit on a crowded bus.
You could spend half the day figuring out parking.
You could hand your phone to random strangers and hope at least one photo is in focus.
Or…
You could cruise San Francisco in an open-air Jeep with your travel partner, your own local guide, your own route and an entire city waiting outside.
Yes. This tour is designed for just two guests, so the entire Jeep is yours for the tour.
You’ll have your own local driver-guide, your own route, and no other guests added to your booking. No waiting for a big group to load up. No rotating seats. No mystery strangers joining halfway through.
That’s the whole idea.
Nope.
The tour works for any two people traveling together — couples, friends, siblings, parent-and-adult-child trips, birthday getaways, anniversary trips, or two travel buddies who simply want a private sightseeing experience.
The focus is on having your own Jeep and your own San Francisco adventure, not turning the day into a romance package.
Quite a lot.
San Francisco is compact, and a private Jeep is a very efficient way to cover the city’s hills, waterfront, neighborhoods, and viewpoints.
A 2-hour tour can typically include highlights such as Fisherman’s Wharf, Palace of Fine Arts, the Presidio, Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, Lombard Street, Chinatown, North Beach, and Pacific Heights, depending on traffic and conditions.
With 2.5 or 3 hours, you have more flexibility to add places such as the Painted Ladies, Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury, Twin Peaks, or the Mission District.
Yes — we drive across the Golden Gate Bridge.
It’s one of the signature parts of the tour.
Depending on traffic, weather, and access conditions, your guide may also stop at a nearby viewpoint such as the Marin Headlands, Fort Baker, or Fort Point.
And yes, these are excellent places for the “we really went to San Francisco” photo.
Usually, yes.
When traffic, road access, and conditions allow, we drive down the famous crooked section of Lombard Street.
Eight hairpin turns, brick pavement, flowers, steep hills, and tourists taking pictures of you while you zigzag downhill.
It’s one of those classic San Francisco experiences that is especially fun from inside a Jeep.
Absolutely.
One of the biggest advantages of a private San Francisco Jeep tour is that the route can be adjusted around what the two of you actually want to see.
Want more viewpoints? More neighborhoods? Architecture? Murals? Golden Gate Bridge photos? Less narration and more cruising?
Tell your guide.
The exact route still depends on your tour length, traffic, weather, road closures, and San Francisco being San Francisco — but the experience is much more flexible than a fixed-route bus tour.
Photo stops are a big part of the experience, especially at major viewpoints such as the Golden Gate Bridge and other scenic stops along the route.
Your guide is also happy to take photos with your phone so both of you can actually be in the picture.
No more coming home with 47 photos of one traveler and three blurry selfies of both of you.
They’re very different experiences.
A hop-on hop-off bus can be useful if you mainly want transportation between major attractions.
A private Jeep tour gives you your own vehicle, your own guide, a flexible route, smaller streets, scenic detours, photo stops, and no waiting around for a bus schedule or a group of strangers.
If you value privacy, flexibility, and seeing more of the city in a short amount of time, the Jeep has a pretty big advantage.
Yes — it’s an especially good fit for first-time visitors.
In just a few hours, you can see many of San Francisco’s most famous landmarks, understand how the neighborhoods fit together, and get local recommendations for places you may want to explore later.
It’s basically a very efficient introduction to the city — minus the giant bus.
It shouldn’t.
Because the tour is private and there are only two guests, there’s no time lost waiting for a large group to load, unload, shop, regroup, or find the person who wandered off.
A 2-hour tour is great for the major highlights.
If you want a slower pace, additional neighborhoods, or more time at viewpoints, the 2.5- or 3-hour option gives you more breathing room.
Welcome to San Francisco.
Tours operate in typical San Francisco conditions, including fog, wind, and light rain.
Warm blankets are available in the Jeep, and a soft top or hard top may be used when weather requires it.
We also recommend dressing in layers. It can be sunny in North Beach and surprisingly chilly at the Golden Gate Bridge 20 minutes later.
If one viewpoint is buried in fog, your guide can often adjust the route and look for better conditions elsewhere.
Tours depart from Fisherman’s Wharf at Hyde Street and Jefferson Street, in the passenger loading area on the Hyde Street side near the Argonaut Hotel.
It’s an easy starting point close to Fisherman’s Wharf, Aquatic Park, cable cars, Ghirardelli Square, and PIER 39.
Limited hotel pickup and drop-off may also be available for an additional fee from selected hotels in:
Pickup availability depends on your hotel location and the day’s tour schedule.
Sometimes.
Regular daytime start times are typically 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 NOON and 1:00 PM, but custom daytime departures may be available depending on guide and Jeep availability.
If you need a slightly earlier or later start, ask before booking and we’ll see what works.
Because this is a private tour for two, we have more flexibility than a scheduled group tour — but availability still depends on the day’s reservations.
“Best thing we did in San Francisco.”
“We wish we had booked it sooner.”
“It felt like touring with a friend.”
